And So Ends Summer 2012

Summer is coming to a close for me-- starting in less than a week, I begin my last year of college. In a way, this was effectively my last summer, and I was lucky to spend it like I did: in New York City, interning and having a good time! In any case, that it was my last summer can be my excuse for the unusually epic amount of mushy fanart I drew. Most of it is elsewhere, for those who actually have an interest in such things, but I was too happy with this to keep it hidden away. Soon, I'll be up to my eyeballs in Serious Illustration....

But not quite yet.

Been doing some re-watching of Supernatural, for who knows what time, and ended up doing some character sheets for a Rule 63 version of the Winchesters through the seasons! With a bonus Castiel.

Judith Slaying Holofernes

Here's this week's sketch-blog piece! Prompt was art history, so this is after Artemisia Gentileschi's "Judith Slaying Holofernes", which is the best Judith painting. Also, one of the few actually pieces of art history I remember clearly, uhhhhhhhhh. Anyway, tried out some B&W stuff here! So 80s. Reminds me of lino-cuts, which I should do again... sometime...

Like A Wagon Wheel

I know this isn't the usual upload fare, but what was going to be a short fanart doodle turned into a real drawing on accident and I liked it too much not to put up, oops. That is to say: it's summer and I can spend inordinate amounts of time drawing whatever I want!
Even if that's farm-themed Stargate: Atlantis fanart. I regret nothing.

STARGATE: ATLANTIS

Junior year is finally over! I can hardly believe it. This summer I'll be in New York, interning as a colorist. For now, have the spoils of my newest television show... and when I say "newest", I mean new for for me-- I'm about five years late for the Stargate: Atlantis bandwagon. However, better late than never!

Saint Jimmy

I realize I've been quiet for a bit... but it's only because I have something huge and awesome coming up! It's very hush-hush for now, but I can say it's going to be all about being fat and having fun (as so much of my art is)!

Meanwhile, have an illustration I did of Jimmy Novak, a minor character on the CW's "Supernatural". It was a birthday gift for a friend! I'm rather pleased with it.

Here's a logo I recently designed for Bitcoiners! I drew a map of Washington D.C for the wonderful They Draw and Travel! It has all of the best places to go... according to me! I'd like to think, however, that I do know a bit about it, having lived just outside the city for so many years. Enjoy!

Summer Break!

My sophomore year at the Maryland Institute College of Art is officially over! It's amazing how time flies. I hope to keep updating over the summer, though I'm not sure how much of the work I produce is going to be something other than fanart... Perhaps I'll post some of that anyway, as well as anything else I make! Anyway, have a drawing:
