Who Will Save Your Soul?

Save Me

And now for something completely different! Well, not completely. This was done with a dip pen and ink-- the original piece is about 11"x15". The spot color was added digitally. Joan

Joan

This is Joan, at the stake. While technically this was done for an open assignment in my Illustration 2 class, it's a subject I've wanted to do a piece on for a while. Joan of Arc is an extremely interesting figure-- not so much as a saint to me, as I'm areligious, but just as a woman and a character. If you want to know more about her, you should read the beautiful article "Running Towards The Gunshots", over at Tiger Beatdown. It had a big part in reminding me why I'm fascinated with her!

Laundry Day Pin-Up

Snowpocalypse

Snowpocalypse

First assignment of the new year! Assignment was to do a piece about something that has happened to you. It was supposed to be an interesting experience, but I have very little of those, so I picked one I thought was beautiful. And then immediately ruined it with this illustration!
